WorshipThe goal of our worship service is simple. We want to encounter God. We desire to connect people with God in a personal way, and it begins with our life. On a practical level, we want you to know what to expect from a Happy Valley's gathering. We seek to be a place that keeps it simple. Our atmosphere is relaxed but focused, simple and authentic. Here's what you can expect during a typical worship gathering: Prayer One of our greatest privileges as followers of Jesus is being able to pray directly to God. During our time together, we will seek God through prayer. If there are issues that you would like one of our leaders to pray for, we would be honored to serve you in that way. You'll find them up front when the service is over or you can write down your request on the connection card in your worship guide. Singing During the gathering, our worship team will lead us in a number of songs. Our worship leaders seek to use contemporary and traditional music to bring us into an intimate time of worship. As we sing, the focus is on Jesus! So regardless of what you sound like, feel free to sing aloud with us. If you choose not to sing, that's okay too! Teaching The Bible is God's gift to mankind! It shows us everything we need for life and death. The Bible reveals the story of God playing out in human history. Every week, a Pastor will teach straight from the Bible in a challenging and practical way. We encourage you to bring your Bible with you. If you do not have one, feel free to use (or take) one of ours. Giving If you are our guest, please feel no obligation to give anything financially. We just ask that you place the communication card in the basket as it is passed during the service. What should I wear? At Happy Valley Church, you're welcome to wear whatever you'd like. There is no dress code, although the attire is more on the casual side. Just be you. Again, "We don't care what you wear, as long as you wear something."
LIFE GROUPSWhat is a Life Group? Life Groups are made up of people who want to connect with others and grow spiritually. They are gatherings of people, either by age group or location, who are committing to live life to the fullest with each other. Usually they meet in a host's home on a regular schedule for fellowship, Bible study, and caring support. At Happy Valley, the Life Groups are the best place for sustained life change to occur. In our small group, people study God's Word together and discuss the issues and challenges of life. It's also where people pray, care for one another, and are missed if they don't show up. Wouldn't it be great if everyone in our church was connected and growing in Christ together?Imagine the growth we would see:• growth in making God the center of our lives• growth in reaching out to our neighbors, our community and the world• growth towards developing authentic relationships• growth in the number of people serving the LordSuccess at Happy Valley is defined by how effectively our ministries move people from our large environments into small groups. All this could result in phenomenal life change, making us all stronger in our walk with Christ.Practically speaking, there will never be a way for the staff to personally minister to everyone who attends our church. That's why we place such a high premium on small groups. It's how we minister effectively at Happy Valley. To find out more about small groups we encourage you to join.

OUR BELIEFSBibleWe believe in the absolute authority, accuracy and inerrancy of the 66 books of the Bible; its full verbal inspiration of the original manuscripts and its all-sufficiency and final authority as the Christian's rule of faith and practice (Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 40:8; 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). GodWe believe that there is but one God, the Creator, Preserver and Ruler of all things, who is perfect in holiness, and in love, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power, and who reveals Himself to us as three distinct entities, Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Nehemiah 9:6; 1 Chronicles 29:11,12; Exodus 15:11; 1 John 4:8b; Matthew 28:19).Jesus ChristWe believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal and only begotten Son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man and is the only mediator between God and man (Matthew 1:20; Luke 1:35; John 1:1,12,13; John 12:45; 14:9; l Timothy 2:5). Holy SpiritWe believe that the Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son, and of the same substance and nature; that He convicts of sin, righteousness and judgment; that He bears witness to the church; that He is the agent of the new birth; and that at conversion He baptizes the believer into the Body of Christ; and that He seals, imbues, guides, teaches, witnesses to, sanctifies and helps the believer, indwelling every true child of God (John 16:8-11; 3:3-7; Ephesians 1:13; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16,17; Romans 8:14-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12,13). ManWe believe that man was created in the image of God by direct creation and that he was originally in fellowship and communication with God. By man's choice he sinned, breaking this fellowship and incurring both physical and spiritual death. Thus all mankind by nature and by choice are sinners and unable of their own selves to reestablish fellowship with God. Apart from Christ all individuals shall be forever separated from God (Genesis 1:26; Ezekiel 18:20a; Romans 3:23; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 6:23). JustificationWe believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, that all who believe on Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood (1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Revelation 1:5). SalvationWe believe that salvation is by grace through faith, not of works, and that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God. We believe in the eternal security of the believer Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:3,7; 1:12; 10:27-29; Romans 8:14-17). Resurrection - Jesus ChristWe believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven and in His present ministry there for us as High Priest and Advocate.Resurrection - ManWe believe in the bodily resurrection of the just, the bodily resurrection of the unjust, the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost (1 Corinthians 15:20-24; Revelation 20:12-15; 2 Corinthians 5:8). Local Church, BaptismWe believe that the local church is the local expression of the Body of Christ and is a voluntary association of baptized believers equal in rank and privilege, subject to the Word of God, and independent of any external ecclesiastical control whatsoever. We believe that God's Word commands every believer to be baptized by immersion in water. Though baptism has no saving merit it does show forth in solemn and beautiful symbolism the believer's faith in and union with the crucified, buried, and risen Savior (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41; Acts 8:38; Acts 18:8; Romans 6:3-5). Lord's SupperWe believe that the Lord's Supper is a provision of bread and the cup which are symbolic of Christ's broken body and shed blood; that the Lord's Supper is partaken of by saved individuals in commemoration of the suffering and death of their Lord and in anticipation of His soon coming again; that its observance is to be preceded by faithful self-examination (Luke 22:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-30). The FutureWe believe in the personal, visible, imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His church and in His coming in Glory with the believers to set up His millennial kingdom upon the earth followed by an eternal kingdom on a new heaven and earth. The saved will forever be in His presence and fellowship while the unsaved will forever be separated from God and His fellowship (1 Corinthians 15:4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; 1 John 2:1,2; Revelation 19:11-16; 20:1-15; 21:1-8).
